Claudio Ranieri sparks rumours of a new job as he joins Antonio Conte for Chelsea training on Friday afternoon

CLAUDIO RANIERI has sparked rumours of a new job as he joined Antonio Conte for Chelsea training on Friday.

The axed-Leicester boss was back at the Blues – the club he managed between 2000 and 2004 before Jose Mourinho took over – with his compatriot.

Alongside Conte and coach Jody Morris, Ranieri was all smiles as he watched on at training just two days after he was spotted at Stamford Bridge for Chelsea’s 2-1 win over Manchester City.

On Ranieri’s appearance at Chelsea’s Cobham Training Centre, Conte said: “Claudio is a good friend.

“I was very pleased to see him, to chat. It’s normal to ask something about last season.

“It was good to see him. We spoke about my experience in England, the different way to train between here and Italy.

“He’s a good friend and I wish him the best in the future. He deserves a new job. I think he’s ready to take another job."

When asked if Ranieri could become his No2 at Chelsea, Conte joked: “Claudio is a top manager, I can become his assistant! I’m sure he’ll find a new job.”

Meanwhile, during Blues training, the Premier League leaders were put through their paces - with Diego Costa in particularly cheeky mood.

Elsewhere Thibaut Courtois, Willian and N'Golo Kante were seen working hard ahead of this weekend's game away to Bournemouth.

The Blues are currently seven points clear of Tottenham in the table with just eight games to play, as they strive for their second title in three years.
