Claude Puel set to be sacked by Southampton with Hull’s Marco Silvo lined-up to replace him
CLAUDE PUEL faces the sack at Southampton – with Hull chief Marco Silva already being lined up to replace the under-fire Frenchman.
Puel’s days at Saints look numbered following a series of training ground bust-ups with his players and fierce criticism from fans over his negative tactics.

Saints considered a move for Hull boss Silva before Puel’s left-field appointment on a three-year deal as Ronald Koeman’s successor last summer.
And the Portuguese has now emerged as their top target and has even been sounded out by Saints officials about swapping Humberside for St Mary’s.
He has a clause in his contract allowing him to leave Hull, who face a relegation make-or-break game at Crystal Palace on Sunday, if they go down.
Despite leading Saints to the EFL Cup final and on course for a top half finish, Puel is not popular at St Mary’s either in the dressing-room or with the supporters.

Puel faced the media on Thursday, ahead of tomorrow’s Saturday’s trip to already-relegated Middlesbrough, seemingly unaware he is virtually a dead man walking.
When asked if he felt under pressure, Puel, wanted by St Etienne, said: “There is no pressure, or perhaps a good pressure before every game to try and play a good game.
