CHRIS FROOME claimed his third Tour de France crown — and will now chase an historic double Olympic gold.
The Team Sky champ, 31, dedicated his remarkable victory to son Kellan.

And he will race in the Ride London event on Sunday ahead of a crack at road race and time-trial glory in Rio.
Froome said: “It will be a massive honour to go and engage with the British fans and then to go from there straight out to Rio.
“The last few years I haven’t done much racing in the UK.

“I’ve really wanted to but races like the Tour of Britain have coincided with the Vuelta.
“And with the national championships being just before the Tour de France, it’s a tricky time.”
Froome is confident of winning Olympic road race gold on August 6 as the hilly 159-mile course will suit him.

He will be joined by Sky team-mates Geraint Thomas and Ian Stannard.
Adam Yates, who was fourth in only his second Tour, and Steve Cummings, who won a stage, will also be in the team.
And four days later Froome will bid to win the time-trial, having taken bronze in 2012 when Bradley Wiggins won gold.

He added: “The road race is more of a gamble.
“I think with the team we’ve got, we can be extremely competitive there and to have a result would be phenomenal.
“The time-trial suits me and though it will be an extremely tough event, I took bronze in London and it would be incredible to medal again.”
