Chelsea vs Arsenal: Blues train in Beijing but Antonio Rudiger, Eden Hazard and Tiemoue Bakayoko are absent ahead of friendly

ANTONIO CONTE was without three of his new signings as he put Chelsea through their paces for the first time in China.

The Blues face Premier League rivals Arsenal in Beijing’s iconic Bird’s Nest stadium on July 22.

Alvaro Morata could jet out to join the tour after saying an emotional farewell to his Real Madrid ahead of a £68million switch.

But Tiemoue Bakayoko is out with a knee injury and Antonio Rudiger has been given an extra week off after winning the Confederations Cup with Germany.

Eden Hazard has been left with London with Bakayoko to recover after fracturing his ankle last month and Diego Costa has been excused as he bids to join Atletico Madrid.

Former Manchester City stopper Willy Caballero was on show, however, after his shock free arrival.

Conte has been frustrated with a lack of progress in the market this summer.

He missed out on top target Romelu Lukaku, who has already played twice for Manchester United and bagged his first goal.

But the Blues have begun to step up their efforts, with Morata set to join Rudiger and Bakayoko at Stamford Bridge.

Conte put to bed speculation about his future by singing a new contract and will now focus on preparing his stars for their title defence.

Cesc Fabgregas - who was among the high-profile names who did train in Beijing - is believed to have been promised more game time.

But the Blues still look a little light after Kurt Zouma and Nathan Ake's departures, with Nemanja Matic left out of the tour squad.

And more new faces are likely at Stamford Bridge as Conte aims to build on last season's success.
