CHELSEA have joined Manchester United in the race to sign Benfica star Nelson Semedo.
The Portuguese right-back, 23, has admirers across Europe but has been lined up for a stunning Premier League switch this month.

Chelsea are looking to strengthen if the right players are available, and newspaper A Bola claims Semedo is right up their street.
Victor Moses is the only natural wing-back in Antonio Conte’s squad right now and Semedo would provide the Italian with another option on the right of his five-man defence.
Benfica are open to selling one of their top players but will apparently demand an eye-watering fee of £34.5million.

Semedo is also believed to be a target for United as Jose Mourinho targets top young talents for his Old Trafford revolution.
And there is additional interest from German giants Bayern Munich as they search for Philipp Lahm’s long-term replacement.

But Semedo claimed last month that he was happy to stay in his homeland after breaking into Benfica's first team less than two years ago.
He said: “[Fans] can rest easy. I’m completely focused on Benfica and I’m hoping to continue here for many years.”
