CHRIS COLEMAN is set to make young Chelsea defender Jake Clarke-Salter his first Sunderland signing.
The England Under-20 international, 20, will join the Black Cats on loan until the end of the season.

Clarke-Salter, who spent time on loan at Bristol Rovers last season, was on the bench for Chelsea in last night’s FA Cup game at Norwich.
It is understood that the deal has been agreed in principle, with Clarke Salter expected to travel to Sunderland on Sunday to finalise the switch.
The Black Cats are enduring a disastrous season and currently sit rock bottom of the Championship.
Sunderland boss Coleman will be given funds in January to revamp his squad in the hopes it will help his side to stave off back-to-back relegations.

Clarke-Salter, who was part of the England Under-20 World Cup-winning side in 2017, has also been highly praised by former Chelsea captain John Terry.
Terry said: “Jake has a great attitude.”
“I remember watching him a couple of years ago being in control of the game and a really vocal player. He reminds me a bit of myself.
“He is doing great and I hope he goes on to take my position and get in the first team.”
