Chelsea transfer news: Blues consider bid for Manchester United target Tiemoue Bakayoko – if they fail in bid for Atalanta’s Franck Kessie

CHELSEA are considering a move for Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko, according to reports.

Franck Kessie remains their top midfield target, but the Blues could turn to the Manchester United target because of Kessie’s steep price tag.

Chelsea are ready to test Monaco’s resolve with a bid for Bakayoko, according to the Daily Mail.

The France Under-21 international is reported to want to stay in the Principality.

The 22-year-old has been a regular for the title-chasing club, playing 16 of their 19 Ligue 1 games this season.

Kessie is still wanted by Antonio Conte, but Chelsea may not be willing to meet Atalanta’s valuation.

Chelsea had a £21.5m bid rejected for the Ivory Coast man.

Talks are still ongoing, but Chelsea have been put off by the £30m fee.
