Chelsea transfer news: Blues aiming to snap up Reading whizkid Oliver Pendlebury as they target more homegrown players

But the Championship club could not stand in the way of a big offer.
Pendlebury is one of a couple of domestic targets Blues want to increase their quota of English players.
Chelsea have one of the most successful youth teams in the country and consistently challenge for honours.
But the path to the first team has been blocked by a number of expensive foreign signings.
And the trend has continue this summer, with Nathan Ake and Nathaniel Chalobah joining Bournemouth and Watford respectively.
Chalobah – England’s most capped youth player – is popular with Blues fans, who wanted to see him get a chance.
