AC MILAN are reportedly set to offer Alessio Romagnoli a bumper new contract to ward off interest from Chelsea.
The rising Serie A centre-back was targeted by Antonio Conte last summer after the Blues boss missed out on Napoli ace Kalidou Koulibaly.

Chelsea thought the deal was in the bag when a £35million bid was accepted, but they were eventually left stunned when Romagnoli rejected the move in favour of a San Siro stay.
But Calciomercato claims Conte has continued to watch the Italian defender this season and is ready to return with an offer he can’t refuse.
John Terry and Branislav Ivanovic are likely to leave Stamford Bridge next summer and Romagnoli would be an ideal replacement alongside Chelsea loanee Andreas Christensen.

But the report states that Milan will now offer their latest star a mega deal in a bid to keep him at the club.
A super-rich Chinese consortium are set to take charge in March and club chiefs know they can afford to keep Romagnoli at the club.
