Ugbo will be on loan for the 2017-18 season at Barnsley where he will gain his first experience of senior football, according to reports from Chelsea.
The 18-year-old was the top scorer for Chelsea’s academy development side last season.
The star striker scored 23 goals in 35 games for the U18 and U23 squads.
And his 10 goals for the Blues during the FA Youth Cup helped the club to clinch the title for the fourth consecutive year.
Ugbo was also an instrumental in Chelsea’s U19’s back-to-back wins in the UEFA Youth League titles in 2015 and 2016.
Chelsea have been developing the youngster since he first signed at the age of nine.
