DAVID LUIZ is hoping a trip to Barcelona can help save his season – but not for Chelsea’s Champions League clash next week.
The Brazilian international has only played ten times in the Premier League this campaign after injuring both his knee and ankles.
His last appearance came for the Blues during the 4-1 defeat to Watford on February 5 due to those blows.
And Sky Sports claim that Luiz has flown twice to Barca to visit a top knee specialist.
Although the ex-Paris Saint-Germain ace has not undergone surgery.
Chelsea are hoping to have the South American back available for selection in the coming weeks.
The Blues face London neighbours and bitter rivals Tottenham on April 1.
And both Antonio Conte and Luiz have made that Stamford Bridge showdown the target for his return.

The 30-year-old re-joined Chelsea in August 2016 after a two-year stint with PSG.
He played 38 times for the Blues as they claimed the title last season.

But this year he and his team-mates have struggled defending their crown and are way down in fifth, five points behind Spurs.
Chelsea travel to Barcelona without Luiz next week for their last-16 clash with Barcelona at the Nou Camp.
The tie is finely poised after a 1-1 draw in West London in the first meeting between the two sides.
