ENGLAND are set to be snubbed by Chelsea starlet Ola Aina in favour of Nigeria.

The right-back was born in London but will turn his back on the Three Lions to represent the Super Eagles instead.

The 20-year-old has been capped by England at each level from Under-16s to U20s.

But now the defender has decided he wants to play for the country both his parents were born.

And he is set to apply to Fifa to officially switch his allegiance.

He made his Premier League debut as a sub in Chelsea’s 3-0 win over Leicester seven months ago.

Previous to that he started in their 3-2 EFL Cup win over Bristol Rovers last August.

A Nigerian FA official said: “The documentation has been done, and in the next week it will be submitted to Fifa for approval.

“How fast Fifa and the FA in England work on this will determine how soon Aina’s application will come through.”

Aina impressed Nigeria boss Gernot Rohr when he joined their training camp in London in March.

He was also spotted in discussions with Nigerian FA president Amaju Pinnick.

The Southwark-born ace has been at Chelsea since he was ten.

He is under contract at Stamford Bridge until 2020.
