SunSport revealed how Antonio Conte was desperate to keep hold of his star striker after securing the Premier League title in his first season in England.

An offer of around £60million for the 28-year-old to move to Quanjian has been on the table since January.

However, we understand that a move for Borussia Dortmund's Pierre Emerick Augbameyang is now the preferred option for Tianjin Quanjian.

Costa even revealed a move to China was not guaranteed after the Blues' 3-0 win against Middlesbrough.

He told DIRECTVSports: "I am the owner of my future and it does not mean that I am going to China."
