CHELSEA fans were shocked to find Thibaut Courtois ruled out of their match at Old Trafford, and potentially their FA Cup semi-final against Tottenham.
But despair soon turned to fury when it turned out the Belgian’s ankle injury was all the club’s fault.

Courtois was asked to play basketball on Tuesday for an advertising with the NBA, along with team-mates Nemanja Matić, Nathan Ake, Marcos Alonso and Asmir Begovic.

The drills the Belgian was forced to perform included shooting hoops and a mini-game.
Courtois twisted his ankle after landing awkwardly when he was asked to jump up and receive the ball.

And Blues fans flocked to Twitter to vent their fury and disbelief that the club had decided to risk key players in the campaign.
Coincidentally Marcos Alonso, who was also involved in Tuesday’s basketball campaign, pulled up in the warm-up and was replaced by Kurt Zouma as the Blues slumped to defeat.
