CHELSEA fans are desperately pleading for the club not to hand Alvaro Morata the number nine shirt next season.
Morata is expected to complete his £65million move from Real Madrid later today to finally end Antonio Conte’s search for a new striker.

But worried supporters fear the 24-year-old will be jinxed if he has to wear the No9 – because so many players have flopped in that jersey before him.
The last player to make a major impact wearing that shirt for Chelsea was Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.
Since then the likes of Fernando Torres, Radamel Falcao, Mateja Kezman and Franco di Santo have all failed to light up Stamford Bridge in the number nine shirt.
Steve Sidwell and Khalid Boulahrouz are others who have come and gone with little impact wearing the Chelsea No9.
That is enough to convince some Blues fans that the club record signing should be handed any other squad number except number nine.
They have taken to social media to voice their concerns in the hope their message will get through to club bosses.

And @OmerBasha86 added: "It's cursed jersey since Hasselbaink... Drogba's 15 will look great."

Falcao was a major disappointment during his time at Stamford Bridge, scoring just once in ten Premier League appearances for the club as he struggled for fitness and form.
Former Liverpool star Torres also failed to produce after Chelsea forked out £50m to sign him, hitting only 20 goals in 110 league games.
