Chelsea ace Charly Musonda arrives in Scotland for medical ahead of 18-month loan deal with Celtic

CHELSEA star Charly Musonda has arrived in Glasgow to complete his switch to Celtic.

The 18-month deal is set to be completed today after the 21-year-old completes his medical.

The Hoops are expected to pay a significant proportion of his Chelsea wage, as well as an initial loan fee.

Musonda is in pursuit of first team football after struggling for game time under the management of Antonio Conte.

He featured during Chelsea’s recent victory against Brighton, but was then dropped for the Carabao Cup clash with Arsenal.

But the 21-year-old has confirmed that his long-term commitment remains with the Premier League side.

He recently penned a new deal at Stamford Bridge to extend his stay until 2022 after encouraging talks with club director Marina Granovskaia.

Musonda joined the Premier League side in 2012 from Anderlecht with his older brothers Tika and Lamisha.

The Belgian was loaned out to Real Betis in 2016, where he made 14 starts and 10 appearances as a substitute.

Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers has been looking to add quality to his side, who are currently 11 points clear in the Scottish Premiership.
