Cheeky Manchester Police troll Liverpool over February points haul while they try and stop people using their phone while driving

LIVERPOOL have been under fierce scrutiny for their post-Christmas form in Premier League and cup competitions.

But the last people they’d have expected to get trolled from is Greater Manchester Police.

And it seems they could not resist a reference to Jurgen Klopp’s side’s recent league form.

They tweeted: “Use your mobile phone & drive as of today you’ll end up with more points on your licence than Liverpool FC got throughout February… SIX.”

The laws in England and Wales changed as of today, March 1, meaning drivers caught behind the wheel using their mobiles face double trouble compared to before.

If caught they will get a £200 fine and six points on their license.

In fact, Liverpool did not get anywhere near six points in February, they were dumped out of the FA Cup by Wolves in January.

They were then beaten 2-0 at Hull City, then beat Tottenham 2-0 at Anfield but went down 3-1 to Leicester City in the Monday night game this week.

Legendary Kop striker Robbie Fowler reacted on social media by posting an image of the complaints page of the GMP website – but he said: “Not a bad tweet tbf.”

Other Twitter users saw the funny side of the light-hearted quip.
