Jurgen Klopp’s side would have wanted to take on the Serie A as star man Mo Salah returns to his former club for the first time since his move to Anfield.
Liverpool signed the Egyptian for £34million last summer from Roma and has been instrumental in their European progress with 39 goals in all competitions.
