JOLYON PALMER suffered another huge blow in his bid to keep his Formula One dream alive.
The Brit has endured a miserable start to the season and is under pressure to keep his seat at Renault — with speculation increasing about Fernando Alonso’s return to the French team in 2018.
Palmer, 26, has only scored ONE POINT in his F1 career — coming in the 2016 Malaysian GP.

Last year he crashed out in Monaco after making a silly mistake by slipping on the wet painted lines.
And he was handed another set-back in Monte Carlo when he suffered an engine blow mid-way through second practice.

He said: “This year has been disappointing, but also I’ve had more issues than this time last year.
“This year there’s performance in myself but we’ve also lost a lot of track time in most Grands Prix in practice sessions.
“I’m disappointed with how it’s gone but I’m ready to turn it around and I think I’m not that far away from putting it together.
“Hopefully, then I will get into a positive cycle and then kick on like last year.
"It's not how I wanted the year to start, it was here [in Monaco] last year where I had the final straw when I ended up in the wall and I thought, 'this has got to change'.
"I've already thought that many times this year, but hopefully it will improve, it's just a matter of putting a weekend together."

Meanwhile, rookie Lance Stroll had another shunt when he thudded his Williams into the barriers at the Casino.
The Canadian predicted this weekend was going to be difficult as he took to the streets for the first time.
He said: "I do not want to be negative, but I expect a difficult weekend. This is my first race here, and this circuit does not favour our car."
