Brit hopeful Katie Swan’s floating Nike dress blamed for her crashing out of Wimbledon

BRIT Wimbledon hopeful Katie Swan’s controversial Nike dress was blamed for her crashing out of the tournament yesterday.

The Bristol 17-year-old struggled with the skimpy outfit as it started “floating up” during the match.

Katie, who lost 6-2 6-3 to Hungary’s Timea Babos, 23, was forced to tuck the dress into the bottom of her shorts.

The Premier Slam outfit has been criticised by players and fans for being too loose and revealing.

Family friend and former Arsenal goalkeeper Bob Wilson, 74, claimed it hindered Katie.

She was forced to tuck the Nike skirt into her shorts to keep it under control while she played

He said: “I kept mentioning this during her match because it seems it doesn’t help.

“Footballers have long ago gone for figure-hugging clothing for a reason.”

Katie, ranked 440th in the world and playing in Wimbledon’s senior draw for the first time, admitted the dress needed to be adjusted during her match.

She said: “There was a slit in the sides before. I think they fixed that.

“I found it comfortable. I was fine in it. It was like floating a little bit, so I just kind of tucked it under.”
