UWE HUNEMEIER is quitting Brighton – to rejoin German club Paderborn.
The Seagulls paid £900,000 for the centre-back in 2015, and he helped them reach the Premier League last year.

Hunemeier has made six senior appearances for Chris Hughton’s side this season, but will be out of contract in July.
The 32-year-old has now ignored interest from QPR to agree a two-year deal with Paderborn, who have just won promotion to Germany’s second division.
Paderborn sporting director Markus Krosche said: “Uwe can set an example for our young team, and stabilise us both on and off the field.
“With his contract in England running out, this was an exceptional chance to tempt him back to Paderborn.

“He knows the club and the second division well, and he will be very valuable to us on our return to this level.”
Hunemeier has played 39 times for Brighton, scoring once. His one top-flight appearance came as a sub in the 1-1 draw with Everton last October.
