Barnsley’s clash with Leeds United saw fans fighting in stands at Oakwell in the Championship

UGLY scenes of fans fighting at Oakwell have emerged as Barnsley came out on top in a five-goal thriller over Leeds United in the Championship.

Video footage has emerged of punches being thrown and threats being made as police failed to control supporters at the Yorkshire derby.

It is unclear which set of supporters are involved in the violence and what area of the stadium the fighting broke out as tempers flared at the Championship clash.

Leeds United took the lead through Chris Wood but the hosts came back from behind and scored three goals in nine minutes to win 3-2.

Tom Bradshaw equalised for Barnsley before the break and Ryan Kent, on loan from Liverpool, gave them the lead after swivelling before firing a striker into the far bottom corner.

Then a terrific free kick from Conor Hourihane gave the hosts a two goal lead which halved after Wood converted from the spot following a hand ball.
