Barcelona ‘want Antoine Griezmann as Atletico Madrid superstar becomes No1 target ahead of £89m move next summer’

BARCELONA have reportedly made Antoine Griezmann their No1 target for next summer.

Mundo Deportivo claims the Atletico Madrid superstar’s release clause will drop to £89million on July 1.

And Nou Camp chiefs are hoping to strike an agreement with their La Liga rivals before the start of the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

Griezmann has long been linked with a move away from the Spanish capital and was wanted by Manchester United last summer.

The France international recently penned a one-year contract extension with Atletico but now appears to be in the sights of Barcelona.

The Catalans lost Neymar to Paris Saint-Germain but failed to secure a marquee replacement, despite spending £135m on young Borussia Dortmund winger Ousmane Dembele.

And it now seems Griezmann is the man at the top of Barca’s shopping list, despite a number of other stars being tipped to make the move instead.

Rival reports claim Tottenham playmaker Dele Alli is actually the pick of the bunch.

While Man Utd bench-warmer Anthony Martial has been backed in some quarters to up sticks for a Spanish switch.

But there is still said to be interest in Liverpool ace Philippe Coutinho, who tried and failed to force through a move to Barcelona in the last transfer window.
