However, despite the return to light training, Barca boss Ernesto Valverde will be reluctant to rush hish big moiney signing back into action anytime soon.

His injury could have been a result of the huge pressure of his historic move to La Liga, according to the doctor who operated on his damaged hamstring.

Dr. Sakari Orava is the Finnish medicine man who operated on the striker and he told Mundo Deportivo the pressure of a big-money move could have been a factor in the injury.

He said: “For the moment, the recovery of Dembele is going well,”

“I am in permanent contact with (Barcelona doctor) Dr. Pruna, who is in charge of sending me the reports that are applicable to Dembele and for now everything is correct.

“He, like all young boys at his age, is very optimistic, but it is preferable to be cautious. Maybe it was a sin of youth not to say that he felt discomfort in that area beforehand.

“The pressure that he has been exposed to after his transfer to the club could also influence the injury.”
