FABIAN EDWARDS is hoping to emulate big brother Leon and cut it up in the UFC.
BAMMA 33 is the perfect place for him to showcase his talents as it is being televised live on ITV.

Edwards – nicknamed The Assassin – will fight Louis ‘KO’ King at the event which also sees Geordie Shore’s Aaron Chalmers in action.
Brother Leon, 26, won and defended the welterweight title during his five fights in BAMMA before making the step up.
And Fabian, 24, reckons he can follow in the same path.
He said: “I think in about five or six fights I’ll get the call up.

“My style of fighting is exciting. I keep finishing these guys that are thrown at me.
“It’s achievable.”

Not that Leon intended for his younger sibling to follow suit.
Fabian explained: “I’ve always liked fighting since I was a kid. My brother started it and it kind of opened my eyes to it and I fell in love with it.

“My brother got me into it but he never TOLD me to go into it.
“He’s a role model for me because he’s where I’m trying to get to.”
Fabian was Leon’s main sparring partner for his last fight against Bryan Barberena because both are southpaws.
So who gets the better of who with the pads on?
He laughed: “I can’t say!”
Edwards has a pro MMA record of 2-0 – identical to reality TV star Chalmers, who he trains with in the same Birmingham gym.

Yet it is the Newcastle lad who is dominating headlines.
When asked whether Chalmers’ explosive burst onto the scene is annoying for a fighter who has had to grind it out in the amateurs, former carpenter Edwards said: “Not at all.
“He is going to get more press because he’s better known. If he wasn’t putting the work in I would be but he’s putting the work in and going out there and getting results.
“Plus it brings more onto our sport so I can’t complain.

“On the last BAMMA he fought on the viewers were one of the best ratings they’ve ever had on the show so I can’t see whats wrong with it.”
Edwards’ opponent King has won his only pro MMA fight and is fighting for a better life for his wife and daughter.
But fearless Edwards said: “I’ll finish him. If you look at my track record I’ve had 12 fights in total and finished about 11.
“I’m not saying this for the sake of saying it, I’m saying it because that’s what I do.
“On Friday I’ll finish Louis King in the first round. Four minutes, he won’t make it past then.”
