Atletico Madrid want any Diego Costa updates in bid to thwart move to China after striker appeared to wave goodbye to Stamford Bridge on Sunday

ATLETICO MADRID have asked to be kept informed of any movements on Diego Costa’s Chelsea departure.

The Spanish club are interested in hijacking any move to the Chinese Super League, with Tianjin Quanjin interested in a mega money swoop for the forward.

SunSport reported earlier this month that Costa had sat down with officials from the CSL, who were keen on taking the Spain international to the Far East.

And according to the Telegraph, Diego Simeone is determined to reunite with his former striker, who scored 43 goals in 94 games at the Calderon during his second spell at the club between 2010 and 2014.

Atletico are moving into the 68,000-seater Wanda Metropolitano next season and want to have some star names to adorn their new ground.

Antonio Conte has been desperately fighting with the Chelsea hierarchy to keep hold of Costa though.

The Italian does not want to see the striker leave after firing in 20 goals for his team this season.

Costa had tried to force a move away from the club in January but was given an ultimatum by Conte, who reminded him of his contract.

The Blues gaffer has been at pains to point out to the board that a striker of a similar stature would cost £50million.

Meanwhile Atleti forward Antoine Griezmann has confirmed his future will be sorted out in the next couple of weeks with Manchester United poised to sign the Frenchman.

He told a French talk show that he has a six out of ten chance of joining the 20-time English champions.
