ARSENE WENGER used to claim he was the guardian of English football looking after the international interests of his adopted country.
But when Arsenal launch their Champions League campaign against Paris Saint-Germain next month, there is a fair chance they will not have a single Englishman in their starting line-up.

It was only a year ago that Wenger boasted he was providing more players for the Three Lions than any other manager.
Yet Jack Wilshere was the only Gunner to make Roy Hodgson’s Euro 2016 squad as Theo Walcott, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Kieran Gibbs, Danny Welbeck and Calum Chambers all dropped out of contention.
And new boss Sam Allardyce fears none of the nine Englishmen in the Arsenal squad will be first team regulars in the coming months.

Walcott, Ox and centre-half Rob Holding all started in Saturday’s 3-1 win at Watford, while Wilshere and Gibbs came on as late substitutes.
But it will be a different story when Wenger picks his strongest team against PSG, with Welshman Aaron Ramsey the only Brit likely to make the cut.
The imminent arrival of £52million duo Shkodran Mustafi and Lucas Perez will further limit the opportunities for the Anglos.
