Arsene Wenger pleads with Arsenal fans to believe him as he says he’ll seal new Jack Wilshere deal

ARSENE WENGER believes he can persuade Jack Wilshere to sign a new deal at Arsenal  —  just like he did with Mesut Ozil.

Wilshere could leave for free in the summer when his contract expires, as many expected Ozil to do.

But the German maestro signed a £350,000-a-week extension last month — and although Wilshere, 26, cannot command that club-record wage, Wenger is confident of keeping the England midfielder.

The Gunners boss said: “We try to make progress and I told you that many times for Ozil. You never believed me.

“I’m positive as I want him to stay. I do the maximum to make him happy.”

Arsenal are also working on a new contract for Aaron Ramsey, who has 18 months left on his deal.

Meanwhile, Gunners bosses could be forgiven for looking on enviously at former star Alexis Sanchez’s arrival at Manchester United.

The Chile star’s arrival was bigger than that of Neymar’s at PSG in terms of social media activity.

And he smashed the record for the most shirt sales of a January signing at the club.

Moreover, Wenger has been linked with a move for Barcelona wonderkid Pablo Moreno – after losing Marcus McGuane to Barcleona.

The 15-year-old is a star striker and the top scorer for their Under-16s side.

Arsenal travel to Wembley to face Spurs in the early kick-off on Saturday.
