Arsene Wenger hints at possible Arsenal stay as he reveals he is planning for pre-season… but refuses to say if he has signed new deal
ARSENE WENGER has hinted that he could be staying at Arsenal by revealing he is planning for pre-season – but he is still refusing to reveal if he has signed a new deal.
The under-fire Frenchman’s side comprehensively beat West Ham on Wednesday thanks to goals from Mesut Ozil, Theo Walcott and Olivier Giroud to move into fifth place.
Despite the future of Arsene Wenger being unclear at the Emirates, it appears he is already planning for pre-seasonPA:Press Association
It was a bit more like the Arsenal swagger of old in what has been a miserable season – but he was predictably asked again about his future at their training ground today.
Wenger came out and bullishly revealed he was still thinking about the future. Replying to making pre-season plans, he said: “My job is to plan for the future of the club.”

But he unsurprisingly knocked back more questions about his future as has been his policy for a while, saying any announcement will come from the club, not him.
Wenger also refused to confirm whether he has been offered a two-year deal by the club, as has been widely reported.

Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny is not fit for the trip to PalaceGetty Images
Fewer than ten Arsenal fans turned up to the demonstration against his tenure before the West Ham game – and Wenger laughed them off and said: “My target is to keep all the fans happy. That’s always what I try to do.”
Ahead of the match against relegation-threatened Palace, he confirmed Emi Martinez will continue to deputise in goal, while Francis Coquelin returns.
The match comes too soon though for centre-back Laurent Koscielny, who is out with a short-term injury rather than anything more serious.
