ARSENAL are leading the race to land Bayer Leverkusen wonderkid Kai Havertz, according to reports.
The Gunners sent scouts to watch the midfielder in action in Germany under-19’s 5-2 defeat to Norway last week.

The 18-year-old is regarded one of the brightest talents in Germany after bursting onto the Bundesliga scene last season.
Premier League rivals Liverpool and Southampton are also believed to be watching him closely.
But Arsene Wenger’s side are ready to make their move this summer to try and lure Havertz away from his boyhood club.
Havertz joined Leverkusen as an 11-year-old and has progressed through the youth sides.

He became the club’s youngest ever Bundesliga debutante at the age of 17 and finished his impressive first season with four goals and five assists in 15 league starts.
Havertz has continued to cement his place in the first team having featured 24 times this campaign.

The youngster has a similar playing style to Arsenal ace Mesut Ozil and likes to dictate the play moving forward.
He once told reporters: “I look up to Mesut Özil.
He plays football the way I like it. He’s always calm with the ball, never stressed. I love watching his games”.
