Arsenal youngster Dan Crowley has joined Dutch minnows Willem IIGetty Images
Having spent last season on loan at Eredivisie club Go Ahead Eagles, Crowley is confident he can hack it in Holland.
He said: “I see obviously an advantage. I know what is required to play football here.”
The Coventry-born midfielder never got a chance at the Emirates after being loaned out to Barnsley and Oxford before his spell with the Eagles.
Crowley said: “I want to be important on the field and to develop myself as a player. I can only do that if I get playing time and confidence, I feel that I’m getting that here at Willem II.”
Technical director Joris Mathijsen said: “We are extremely pleased that we have a talent like Daniel pledged their loyalty to us.
“He fits well into our mix of young and experienced potential forces.”
