MOHAMED ELNENY is set to be offered a new Arsenal contract – less than a year after they were ready to dump him.
The Gunners were ready to listen to offers for the 25-year-old last summer with Leicester believed to be keen on the star.
But the Egyptian has gone on to make 25 appearances in all competitions for the club this season.
And now the Mirror claims Arsenal want to open talks with him over extending his stay in North London.
Elneny moved to England from Swiss side Basel in January 2016.
He suffered a difficult start to life in North London and struggled to win over his new supporters.
And it appeared that Arsene Wenger was ready to let him depart last year.
But the midfielder has emerged as a key part of the Frenchman’s squad this campaign.

And the departure of Francis Coquelin to Valencia two months ago means he is in more demand than ever by Wenger.
Elneny still has two years remaining on his contract at the Emirates.

And the star helped the Gunners to lift the FA Cup last season.
The only chance he has of silverware this year comes in the Europa League after Arsenal defeated Milan 5-1 to progress into the last-eight.
