The Gunners are resigned to losing Sanchez to the Premier League leaders but know this is the last chance they will receive a fee for his departure.

Sanchez’s contract expires at the end of the season meaning he can join Pep Guardiola’s side for nothing in the summer.

According to Sky Sports journalist Fabrizio Romano, City have offered Sanchez £13million-a-year with added bonuses but need to rely on Arsenal cashing in.

In a tweet he wrote: “Manchester City have reached an agreement with Alexis Sanchez for free transfer: wage £13m per year and £30m to Alexis when he’ll sign the contract.”

He adds: “If Arsenal would accept to sell him now in January, Man City will pay £20m to the Gunners.”

Sanchez’s bonus will drop to £15m if he joins the Etihad in January because of his transfer fee.

But Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger remains adamant that the club are yet to receive an offer for Sanchez.

“I have nothing to add. What is the most important thing is to be professional and to perform no matter what the environment is.

“It’s not a big influence on the performance of our team. I have not decided yet [whether he will play]. I will decide today or tomorrow morning.”
