Arsenal news: Alexis Sanchez ‘likely’ to join Manchester United with Henrikh Mkhitaryan coming other way, reveals Arsene Wenger

ARSENAL boss Arsene Wenger has revealed Alexis Sanchez is ‘likely’ to join Manchester United in the next 24 hours – with Henrikh Mkhitaryan coming the other way.

The Chilean is expected to seal a switch to Jose Mourinho’s side in a staggering £505,000-a-week deal.

The 29-year-old has snubbed the Gunners contract offers with just six-months left on his deal, forcing them to flog him for £35m to their bitter rivals.

Wenger said when asked about Sanchez: “Yes, it is likely to happen. Any minute things can break down.

“That’s how the transfer market is. These things are never guaranteed. It can happen, it can as well not happen.

“It is as that stage. If it does not happen, he will play on Saturday.”

The Arsenal chief also confirmed Mkhitaryan, 28, will be moving to the Emirates in the deal.

He added: “Yes that is my understanding. I like the player.”

“No, the wages will not be a problem.”
