He told SkySports News: “It’s gonna be a big task but I think I can do it.

“Over the next six months they’re going to work on me physically and mentally and hopefully I’ll break into the first team.”

Cohen was watched by his mum as he was introduced to the Arsenal squad on his first day in North London.

Nacho Monreal and Kieran Gibbs in particular will have to watch nervously over their shoulders as the youngster strives to prove himself.

He added: “Speechless just been on the phone to my sister and she’s crying her eyes out. I’ve already moved out of my mum’s house – there were more tears again.”

Jamie Vardy is the most famous example of a non-league footballer making it at the highest level.
