ROY KEANE twisted the knife into Arsenal after their Champions League humiliation by saying: “They have two decent players and the rest are average.”
And the Manchester United skipper, who commanded the middle of the park under Sir Alex Ferguson, added: “When Kieran Gibbs has the captain’s armband, you’re in trouble.”
Roy Keane laid into Arsenal’s sorry flops after their Champions League humbling Getty Images Arsene Wenger’s side collapsed to a 5-1 thumping at the hands of Bayern Munich last night.
And they look destined to repeat their typical last-16 exit from Europe’s top table for the seventh year in a row.
Not that the outcome surprised ITV pundit Keane in the slightest, who said: “I don’t know what you were expecting.
Roy Keane was typically outspoken in his assessment of Arsenal ITV “There was a lack of leadership, character, hunger, desire. I have to say at this level and this stage they’re not good enough.
“There’s no point being too critical because they’re just not up to it. They have two decent players and the rest are average.”
And Keane – who was joined in his criticism by Gunners hero Ian Wright – zeroed in on left-back Gibbs as evidence Wenger’s side can no longer mix it with the big boys.
