ARSENAL fans have suffered a frustrating start to their teams’ season but Arsene Wenger has urged the disgruntled supporters to “be behind the team” for the rest of the campaign.
Shareholders got the opportunity to grill the north Londoner’s board at the annual general meeting at the Emirates on Thursday.

There was a hostile atmosphere during the meeting where some fans failed to oust chairman Sir Chips Keswich and heckled CEO Ivan Gazidis for avoiding questions, according to the Mail.
Wenger stuck to focusing on matters on the pitch in his speech, insisting that the “hunger is bigger than ever” despite continued calls for the Frenchman to be sacked.
Wenger said: “I dedicate 99 per cent of my lifetime to try and make you happy. Looking at what happened today, it in not easy.
“Arsenal is highly respected. We represent something that is exceptional. It’s a tradition of class.

“Be behind the team. We accept the verdict at the end of the season but we want you to be behind us.”
After nine league games Arsenal find themselves fifth in the table and losing ground on front runners Manchester City who are nine points ahead.

However Wenger and his team are through to the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup after defeating Norwich 2-1 on Tuesday and are on course for the knockout stages of the Europa League after winning their opening three games.
Wenger continued: “The present for me is about style of play, winning trophies, winning every single game. Don’t think I don’t know that.
“As soon as we lose one game there is a preconceived idea that we are not good enough.”

But angry fans aren’t convinced. Despite protests Wenger signed a new two-year contract in May and continues to be under fire.
But the French boss insists that he will reassess his position at the end of the season, as he does each year.
“My hunger, my commitment is bigger than ever. I question myself a lot, don’t worry, I will sit down every year to see where I go.
“No matter what happens one day I will always love this club forever and be an eternal fan.”
