Arsenal and Tottenham to be offered Bordeaux star Malcom, as winger reveals he wants to leave the club

ARSENAL and Tottenham are set to be offered Bordeaux star Malcom in the summer transfer window, as winger has revealed he wants to leave the club.

Both North London clubs were chasing the 20-year-old Brazilian, but were put off by the sky-high £45million valuation.

Arsenal instead opted to bring in Henrikh Mkhitaryan in a swap deal for Alexis Sanchez, while Spurs turned to PSG outcast Lucas Moura in a £25m deal.

Despite that, Malcom has now told Bordeaux he will be leaving at the end of the season, with the Ligue 1 side appearing to honour that.

Speaking of his arrangement with the French side, Malcom revealed: “I will choose the team, and Bordeaux will let me go.

“I already said that I would have liked to leave this winter to meet new challenges.

“But I must also remember that Bordeaux helped me a lot.

“I gave my word to Bordeaux that I will continue [with the club] to be able to have more time to choose my future club.

“These next three or four months will make a big difference.”

Manchester United were also in the winter running to sign Malcom, but with the addition of Alexis Sanchez are now more likely to shore up their defensive ranks.

Malcom has turned out 25 times in all competitions for Bordeaux this season, finding the back of the net eight times – including 24 Ligue 1 outings.

However, his form appeared to notably dip amidst the intense transfer speculation, scoring just once since December 1.

Malcom only joined Bordeaux in January 2016, but has gone on to score 16 times in 73 Ligue outings.

The Brazilian has also turned out twice for his nations Under-23s, as well as logging 15 caps for the Under-20s.
