Now, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger – under increasing pressure at the Emirates – is hoping to bring back Wojciech Szczesny from Roma, where he has spent two seasons on loan.

Should Arsenal be unsuccessful in their to bring back the resurgent Polish stopper, Wenger would need to either look elsewhere or promote Emiliano Martinez to No2.

The Gunners paid £3.2m to sign Ospina - who still has two years on his contract - from Nice in 2014.

But the club are unlikely to stand in his way and are now seemingly open to offers.
