A finalised contract between the pair is yet to be signed but the Daily Mail report that Klitschko let slip the plans for the fight as he made his way to Manchester ahead of AJ’s bout.
He said: “I expect Joshua to win on Saturday and I am confident we will fight each other in April.”
And Klitschko’s manager Bernd Boente admitted Wembley is the preferred site.
He said: “It is the most famous stadium in the world.”
But Cardiff’s Principality Stadium and football grounds in Germany remain an option while Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn attempts to nail down a venue in the UK.
