At the weigh-in Joshua said: “I am confident with myself, but never too confident.

“Too much confidence can become a little cocky and that’s when people can make mistakes and I don’t want to make mistakes.

“I’d been starving myself…Maybe i’m starting to fill out as I get older and find my natural weight. Who knows what it is, but I feel fitter than I have for any fight.”

Former WBC Silver heavyweight champion Takam came in at 16st 11 1/2lbs.

The 28-year-old has held the IBF title since 2016, and the WBA and IBO titles since April 2017

The two heavyweights kept their composure and maintained a professional atmosphere during the face-off.

Joshua expectedly kept his entrance minimal, despite the crowd chanting ‘Ohhhhhh Anthony Joshua’.

The two fighters are predicted to meet in front of a crowd of 70,000 – which is a world record for a fight at an indoor arena.

April’s dramatic stoppage of Klitschko makes Joshua the favourite and the 28-year-old has predicted that it will only take 30 seconds.
