Andy Murray plagued by golfers at £2.7m family mansion as tennis ace crashes out of Australian Open 2017

ANDY Murray has spent £2.7million on a new home but stray golf balls keep ending up in his garden.

It could give the tennis ace — knocked out of the Australian Open yesterday — a further reason to feel teed off.

The Sun can reveal the mansion backs on to a golf course and players have admitted wayward shots often land in his grounds.

One golfer said: “It’s become a bit of a joke at the club.

“When you approach the hole if you are slightly off target then the ball will end up in his back garden.

“I just hope he doesn’t plan to have a greenhouse or summer house otherwise there will be a lot of broken glass.”

The property, in the exclusive Surrey Hills near Leatherhead, has a swimming pool and two outdoor tennis courts.

Andy, 29, who was knighted in the New Year Honours, has yet to move in as work on a rear extension to the home is planned.

The Scot also owns a house worth £7.5million in Oxshott, Surrey and a hotel on the outskirts of Dunblane, Scotland.

He and wife Kim have a baby daughter Sophia and two dogs.

A spokesman for the golf course said: “This is not something we would comment on.”

Andy’s agent could not be reached for comment.
