According to The Telegraph, the online giants have stepped up their interest, despite the company itself refusing to confirm.
One source had allegedly confirmed that Amazon had introduced external experts to find out exactly what was required to broadcast live football.
Bidding will soon begin for the next round of rights, and the Premier League are preparing for a number of new names to enter the fray.
But Amazon, who boast an annual turnover of around £100bn, are expected to have the financial upper-hand.
