Amanda Nunes tears into Ronda Rousey’s coach Edmond Tarverdyan for ruining her career

AMANDA NUNES has torn into Ronda Rousey’s coach for ruining her career.

The Brazilian fighter, who floored Rousey in just 48 seconds at UFC 207, said Edmond Tarverdyan is to blame for his charge’s career stalling.

And Nunes is adamant it is because Tarverdyan has made Rousey believe she is a boxer – when really she is not.

Nunes told Fox Sports: “She thinks she’s a boxer. He like put this in her head and make the girl believe in that.

“I don’t know why he did that. She has great judo and then she can go more forward in this division.

“But he put some crazy thing about her boxing and then her career started like going down.

“That’s why I went in there and I’m the real striker here. This is the only thing I want to look at him to say.”
Nunes made a beeline for Tarverdyan after last Friday’s showdown with Rousey.

She taunted the American boss nicknamed Diamond, 35, after the pair's fight tactics backfired.

Tarverdyan is no stranger to criticism.

The same striking strategy used against Nunes was also apparent in Rousey's other career defeat against Holly Holm, a former boxing champion.

The misguided tactics have led to two knockout losses in a row for the UFC pin-up, whose career now appears uncertain.
