EDINSON CAVANI will be staying put at Paris Saint-Germain this summer, according to his agent.
The striker was believed to be unhappy at playing second-fiddle to Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who has occupied the central striker’s role in Laurent Blanc’s 4-3-3 formation this season.

Cavani was reportedly ready to hand in a transfer request if the Swede penned a new deal to stay at the Parc des Princes, but his agent claims the situation has now changed following Ibrahimovic’s decision to leave the Parc des Princes.
Claudio Anellucci told Radio CRC: “I do not think that it is at all possible for [Cavani] to quit PSG.
“After the departure of Ibrahimovic, PSG want to keep their existing squad and reinforce in order to win the Champions League. PSG cannot lose two strikers.”
Ibrahimovic looks set to link up with Jose Mourinho at Manchester United, with Napoli’s Gonzalo Higuain tipped as his replacement.

But the arrival of the Argentine won’t cause further panic for Cavani, with Anellucci adding: “If he came to PSG, Cavani would be happy because it is always a good thing in terms of winning the Champions League.”
It means that Cavani is unlikely to complete a Premier League switch this summer despite being linked with a number of top sides.
SunSport understands that Chelsea and Manchester City are extremely interested in the 29-year-old, with incoming Blues boss Antonio Conte knowing the forward well from his time managing in Serie A.

Diego Costa’s Stamford Bridge future looks unclear as Atletico Madrid prepare an audacious raid to re-sign the Spaniard, and a new attacker is one of Conte’s top priorities.
Former Bayern Munich gaffer Pep Guardiola is also a fan and wants to Uruguayan to provide competition for Sergio Aguero as Wilfried Bony heads for an Etihad exit.
But it appears both clubs will have to focus their attentions elsewhere as Paris Saint-Germain look to finally end their Champions League hoodoo and lift Europe’s top prize.
