CHRISTIAN BENTEKE will be staying at Liverpool this summer after Gonzalo Higuain’s agent denied meeting Jurgen Klopp for transfer talks.
Benteke’s Anfield future is in doubt following a poor debut season at Anfield, and Higuain has been tipped to replace him in attack.

The Napoli star is reportedly keen on a big-money move after scoring an incredible 36 goals in 35 league appearances, and won’t be renewing his current deal which is set to expire in 2018.
Liverpool have been strongly linked with making a bid for Higuain despite splashing out on Southampton forward Sadio Mane, with Manchester United flop Memphis Depay also allegedly of interest to Klopp.
But Higuain’s agent insists he has not met with the German to discuss a deal despite the duo being pictured together during the recent Copa America tournament in the US.
Nicolas Higuain – who is also the striker’s brother – told Italian outlet Radio Crc: “I have never talked about Gonzalo with other clubs as a matter of respect.

“I’ve been in Argentina for a month. I was also in Paris to see PSG because I have other French players as clients and many friends in football, but now I see everywhere that I met Klopp too but none of this is true.
“I don’t need to talk about my brother with the Parisian club, if PSG want to talk they have to called [Napoli president] Aurelio De Laurentiis, not me.”
The revelation coincides with an admission from Benteke’s agent after the Belgian was linked with a switch to Atletico Madrid in the Spanish press this morning.

Sport claims Diego Simeone has already started negotiations to sign Benteke after falling short in La Liga and the Champions League.
But the 25-year-old’s agent is adamant that there have been no talks with the Spaniards, adding that Benteke is set to remain a Liverpool player for one more season.
Kismet Eris said: “There’s nothing at all with any team. [Will Benteke stay?] Yes.”
