Adnan Januzaj set for showdown talks with Man United boss Jose Mourinho over future

ADNAN JANUZAJ will tell Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho that he wants to leave the club permanently this week and not go out on loan again if he’s not in his first-team plans.

The Belgium international moved to Borussia Dortmund for the whole of last season but had a torrid time and was recalled in January.

The 21-year-old is worried about leaving United on loan again and slipping down the first-team pecking order with Henrikh Mkhitaryan joining the club this week.

A United source said: “It seems like Adnan is way down the first-team playing order now, but he is really well liked by Jose who rates him highly.”

It is thought United will try and send him out to another Premier League club for the coming campaign where he will have guaranteed playing assurances.

He will also have an option in the deal which means he would be recalled back to United if he was not getting enough first-team action.

Januzaj and his representatives will sit down with Mourinho when he returns to training at Carrington this week and talk about his future.

The former Anderlecht winger has made 50 appearances for United and scored five goals after bursting onto the scene in 2013.

Januzaj – who failed to make Belgium's Euro 2016 squad – played just six times for Dortmund last season.
