ACCRINGTON STANLEY owner Andy Holt has hit back at the EFL over their burger bonus.
Holt received a letter that “demanded an explanation” after admitting to giving his team £200 to spend at McDonald’s if they win.

The League Two side are cruising to promotion, three points clear of second place Luton with two matches in hand.
And although the extra burgers and fries appear to be helping their cause, the EFL are demanding answers from Holt.
The owner took to Twitter to write: “So. Sometimes when we win I give £200, less the £21.37 I get back in change, to Sean to get the lads McDonalds or the like. If we lose they get their own. It’s just the way we roll.
“Then I receive a letter from EFL demanding an explanation because the McDonalds is not specified in the players contracts.

“You have to wonder what these folk would do with their life if it wasn’t for my errors of judgement.”
The bonus goes against rules that state: “full details of all payments to or benefits paid in cash or in kind on behalf of players must be included in the standard contract.”
Holt would go on to sarcastically add in response to a fan: “It’s my money John, not the club’s. I spend it how I want, been known to give a free bar to our fans for 10 minutes too on the odd occasion.

“I don’t for one minute think anything untoward in my actions. At least the EFL keep an eye on my twitter feed.
“I’m relaxed about it. Should put an expenses claim in, but I’d have to pay the bill either way.”
