AC Milan troll Arsenal ahead of Europa League showdown as he jokes ‘I’m am sure they would like to continue in Europe’
AC MILAN sporting director Massimiliano Mirabelli has sent a cheeky apology to Arsenal after the clubs were drawn together in the last 16 of the Europa League.
And Mirabelli has no doubts that his team will end Arsenal’s European involvement for another year when they meet in two weeks’ time.
He said after today’s draw: “I am sorry for Arsenal because I am sure they would have liked to continue in Europe.
“It would have been a nice final, but I’m happy meet them in the last 16.

“It’s a big test to face a big club like Arsenal now. We need opponents like this.”
It is only six years since the teams met in the last 16 of the Champions League, with Arsenal losing 4-0 at the San Siro before winning the return leg 3-0 at the Emirates.
Milan club manager Christian Abbiati was in goal for the Italians at the time and recalls: “It was a disaster in London but we made it through in the end and I hope we don’t see the same mistakes this time.
“This is definitely not the same Arsenal as back then and we meet them in what is a positive moment for us.
“We are in good form at the moment and have had some good results. Playing in games like this will be all the motivation we need.”
