AC Milan launch new Diesel off-field uniform… and Twitter doesn’t like it AT ALL

MILAN is one of the world’s fashion capitals… apparently.

But it seems the memo did not get through to one of the city’s two biggest teams – after they released a garish new “off-field uniform.”

The new threads have been released in collaboration with trendy fashion house Diesel.

SunSport is attempting to establish whether the suit-style jackets are in fact suit jackets, track suit tops, or some bizarre hybrid.

Milan’s black and red vertical stripes have been mashed into some washy faux-camo pattern – and the players all wear a zip-up shirt underneath.

Gone are the days when a simple suit and tie would do the job.

Alex Ferguson insisted on a club suit for his players – but it seems those days are well and truly over now.

Manchester City and Barcelona have also sported smart-casual club couture in recent months.

Diesel founder Renzo Rosso and the Rossoneri announced their partnership last year, with the Italian designer set to oversee casual wear for the Serie A giants.

In fact, AC Milan’s red and black striped jerseys are some of the most iconic in football.

And as winners of SEVEN European titles and 18 Scudetto crowns, the colours are associated with unrivalled success in Italian football.

But we’ll just write these outfits as ones for next month’s bargain bucket.

And the suits did NOT give Milan any help over the weekend as they wore the attire to Sampdoria, but were beaten 2-0 thanks to goals from Duvan Zapata and Ricardo Alvarez.

The club have spent untold millions on some of Europe’s biggest stars over the summer, despite the fact that they are not in the Champions League.

Manager Vincenzo Montella has been sporting smart attire on the touchlines though, looking smart in a dark Diesel suit with the Milan logo on the breast.
